In a bid to support the government’s efforts to combat impacts on the environment and commemorate World Environment Day marked annually on June 6th, Songas employees joined Ubungo Municipal Council to officially launch the ‘environment week’ that ran from June 1-7, 2019.
The event involved cleaning and collecting plastic bags at Manzese Market and Bakhressa open grounds as well as planting Royal Palm trees along Sam Nujoma Road. In addition to taking part in the event, Songas also donated cleaning equipment worth TZS 2 million, 250 Royal Palm Trees valued at TZS 1.7million and a cash donation of TZS 3.5 million to Ubungo Municipal Council.
